Project Description

Syrian Refugee Crisis

Recent pictures of the plight of the Syrian refugees have gone viral, leaving many of us wondering how we can help. Syria’s civil war is the worst humanitarian disaster of our time. With more than 11 million people displaced, the increasingly dire impact on neighbouring countries can seem too overwhelming to understand. With Turkey taking in under 2 million and in Lebanon where 1 in 5 people is now a Syrian Refugee. But one fact is simple: millions of Syrians need our help and the more aware people are of the situation, the more we can build a global response to reach them. Thousands of Refugees have fled to Europe and require as much assistance as we can give. Refugee Crisis Appeal  Since the start of 2015, over 300,000 refugees have crossed the Mediterranean. This represents a large increase from last year, when around 219,000 people crossed the Mediterranean during the whole of 2014. Already this year over 2,500 refugees are estimated to have died or gone missing this summer, trying to reach Europe. More than 10,000 children have been killed; 5.6 million children need humanitarian aid. Inside Syria 3.5 million children have been forced from their homes.  Nearly 2 million children have fled the country and are now living in over-stretched refugee camps or villages. In addition to our previous work inside Syria through our partners Syria Relief where we assisted in delivering life-saving medical equipment as well as helped fund Bab Al Hawa hospital with 67 beds and 4 theatres. MRI is now launching our appeal for Medical Aid in Calais. Syrian Refugee Crisis With your donations we can provide emergency medical aid to refugees in Calais. Syrian Refugee Crisis To give you an idea of what your donation could do Syrian Refugee Crisis£25 Single Donation For General Medical Aid  European Refugee Crisis £50 Single Donation For General Medical Aid Mediterranean Crisis £100 Single Donation For General Medical Aid.
